These particular feathers are called "feathers of the painter". It's a small feather located in the middle of the edge of each wing of the woodcock ;there is only one per wing. Its particularity is that it is very fine with a stiff tip, highly valued by watercolorits and miniaturists. However, its fragility allows it to be used only once per feather.
