WIESE

Chimera brooch.

Reference : 8285

The Louis WIESE hallmark was registered on September 1, 1890, the year of the death of his father Jules WIESE (1818-1890). His place of installation was 90 rue de Richelieu in Paris.

The same chimera is found on the scarf ring of the reference 8035 on our site. This theme must have appealed to the bourgeoisie of the late nineteenth century because there are many brooches of the same inspiration from this period. If the Henri VEVER's book volume III page 566 presents only three models, in volume II of the catalog of the HULL GRUNDY gift to the British Museum, page 282 to 284 of the 1984 edition, you will find 25 !.
